SOLUTION

West of Here transformed EAST Miami into a living, breathing portal – a liminal space where guests could experience what it truly means to Arrive at a Different Place. Anchored by a site-specific, multi-sensory performance titled DANI, the evening unfolded across seven spaces in the hotel, including private suites, the lobby, and rooftop nightlife venues. Told through movement, sound, and immersive storytelling, DANI followed the emotional journey of an artist who arrives in Miami seeking reinvention. Through encounters with new communities and dreamlike thresholds, she confronts memory, identity, and the transformative tension between past and future. The event also launched EAST’s new logo through an interactive AR installation, revealing a visual “portal” into the cities the brand calls home: Miami, Beijing, and Hong Kong. From projection-mapped brand visuals and bespoke cocktails to four live DJ sets, each element of the evening contributed to a fluid narrative about creative risk, belonging, and discovery.

OBJECTIVE

Swire Hotels engaged West of Here to conceive a one-night-only experience for their most valued Miami guests and VIP clientele. The goal: to unveil EAST’s refreshed brand identity – including a new logo and the guiding mantra, Arrive at a Different Place – through a culturally rich and emotionally resonant activation that would leave a lasting impression.

Approach

  • Strategic Concepting: Defined an experiential storytelling arc aligned with EAST’s new logo and brand positioning. 
  • Immersive Performance: Commissioned and produced DANI, a multilingual, site-specific narrative told across multiple hotel spaces.
  • Augmented Reality Installation: Debuted EAST’s new logo via an interactive AR portal connecting Miami, Hong Kong, and Beijing.
  • Culinary Integration: Worked with inhouse culinary teams to weave the new identity into bespoke F&B offerings inspired by the three cities.
  • Visual Storytelling: Developed large-scale projection installations that merged EAST’s new brand assets with collaged storytelling about the region. 
  • Music Curation: Presented four DJ sets from artists across the U.S. and Mexico, channeling the energy of global arrival points.
